Superintendent Kubin’s End-of-Year Update June 2, 2021

We made it! It was a challenging year, but we never lost hope! When I look back over this tough and unique school year, I am so proud of how we all worked together to do what’s best for our kids.

The last day of school is tomorrow, Thursday, June 3, 2021. If you have any questions, please call your student’s school office. Next year we look forward to getting back to full-time in-person learning, five days a week for all of our students.

Graduation and Promotion Schedule

We are excited to host in-person graduation ceremonies this year. They will look slightly different because only a small number of family members can attend. All social distancing requirements and other public health orders will be followed, including requiring all participants to wear a mask. Click here for the 2021 UUSD Graduation Schedule. The events will be live-streamed on the UUSD Live Youtube Channel for those who cannot attend in person. Contact your child’s school with any questions.

Summer Food Distribution

Summer Food Distribution will continue on Wednesdays throughout the summer, but with different hours. Starting on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, food distribution hours will be from 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

COVID-19 Vaccinations for Students 12–18

I want to urge everyone to get vaccinated and do everything possible to keep our COVID-19 infection numbers down to be sure we can go back to school full-time in the fall. Please follow the guidelines: wear a mask, social distance, and wash your hands! Mendocino County Public Health offers various opportunities for adults and students ages 12 - 18 to receive the COVID-19 vaccine. Click here for dates and times. Contact your healthcare provider or call 707.472.2759 for more information.

I will be communicating periodically over the summer, and I will be sure to keep everyone informed about any new developments or changes. Thank you so much for your support and patience throughout the 2020-21 school year. We appreciate you and all you have done to partner with us and everything you do to support our students. Enjoy the summer break, and I hope you are able to relax with family and friends. I anxiously look forward to next fall. We cannot wait to welcome our students back to full-time in-person learning five days a week.
