What if the power is shutoff during the school day?
In the event of a planned PG&E power outage that occurs during a school day, we will continue the school day as usual. We may need to implement the Emergency Early Release schedule that can be found on this website or your school’s website.
What happens if the power is shut off before the school day begins?
If power is shutoff before the school day has begun and is not predicted to be turned back on during that school day, schools will be closed. If we know that power will be turned on during the day, we may implement our Emergency Late Start schedule that can be found on this website or your school’s website.
If there is a power shutoff, will all UUSD schools close?
Power outages may not impact all schools within our district at the same time. In this case, only the schools without power will be closed.
How will I know if my school is closed?
The school or the district will send updates via our phone, email, and text message system with information about school closures. Please make sure we have your most recent email and phone numbers by updating your information on the Aeries Parent Portal. Updates about school closures will also be posted on our district website and Facebook page.
Will students have to make up days if schools are closed?
PG&E shutoffs are not considered emergency situations by the state, and any missed school days will need to be made up after May 29, 2020.
