ERate Approved
New Switches Coming!
Welcome back from the Technology Department to all of you returning from
your summer time breaks.
I would like to advise you all of some very good news! The end is
nearing for those sites currently suffering from the “Spinning Wheel of
Death” when accessing network resources.
In July, 2010 the Ukiah Unified School District was awarded ERATE
funding for the purchase of new switches for all of our site locations,
to include the Ukiah High School. This is a very large project and we
have been working closely with AT&T and are moving toward a projected
completion date of December 31st 2010.
These are very exciting times in UUSD as we will be carrying out a
complete overhaul of all our site locations. This means that every switch
in all of our UUSD site locations, buildings, etc., are going to be
replaced with brand new Cisco Switches and the appropriate network
configuration will be put into place to allow optimum performance for
our network and our projected growth.
