Facilities Master Plan

Facilities Master Plan 2025–2030: Planning Today for the Schools of Tomorrow

Ukiah Unified School District is updating its Facilities Master Plan (FMP) to guide school improvements, modernization, and long-term facility investments over the next five years. This process will help us create safe, modern, and future-ready learning environments that support student success and align with our District’s Strategic Plan – our EPIC Journey toward excellence, equity, and engagement.

Why We’re Updating the Plan

In 2024, California voters approved Proposition 2, a statewide school facilities bond that provides billions in state grant funding to help districts modernize schools, improve safety, and replace aging portable classrooms – without the need for new local bonds or tax increases. To qualify for this funding, school districts must have an up-to-date, Board-approved Facilities Master Plan that outlines current facility conditions, future needs, and community priorities. By updating our plan now, Ukiah Unified will be eligible to apply for millions in state modernization grants to improve classrooms, technology, and infrastructure across all schools.

Our Goals
The updated Facilities Master Plan will:

  • Identify and prioritize long-term facility needs

  • Reduce our reliance on aging portable classrooms

  • Modernize classrooms and learning spaces to support 21st-century teaching

  • Address health, safety, and accessibility needs

  • Support our Strategic Plan goal of future-ready schools

  • Position the District to qualify for Proposition 2 state funding
