When Kala Wright first enrolled in Northern Pomo, she questioned whether she belonged in the class. Over time, uncertainty gave way to confidence as learning the language strengthened her connection to her culture and helped her discover abilities she never knew she had. For Kala, reclaiming Northern Pomo became a reminder that overcoming one challenge can open the door to many others.
