Congratulations Students of the Month Schools celebrated April Students of the Month on Tuesday, May 5, 2026 at Ukiah High School. April Students of the Month 2026 Show Transcript good afternoon everybody and welcome to our very last student of the month for this year so can't believe this year is almost over um it it has gone for at least for me it has gone by very fast so anyway we're really happy that you're here we want to thank you for everything that you do to support these amazing young people sitting behind me um for the partnership that you have with us and just want to say thank you so much so um we were going to get started and we're going to start with the Pledge of Allegiance so if you could all rise the flag is right over there and join me I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands 1 nation under God indivisible with liberty and justice for all thank you so much we are so honored to be able to have a student of the month program this was started many many years ago um by some of our amazing Community Partners who are still here with us today um so we're really honored and fortunate to be able to have this student of the month program before we get started we're going to do some quick introductions um we have some great people over there to my left your right um we have Board of trustee B Arkin um sitting there she comes every single month to congratulate our students so let's give her a round of applause and sitting next to her her from Community First Credit Union 1 of our partners Andrew munise and sitting next to him is Shauna Espinosa from State Farm Insurance Shana thank you and sitting next to Shawna who shared with me that she used to come when it was at Eagle Peak the ceremony was at Eagle Peak um from Savings Bank of menechino County Don Erickson thank you all so much for being here they come every single month to um to honor and cheer on these great students so thank you um I also would like to read a list of our other sponsors um and let our students know when you come up to shake hand over here you're going to get a pack of great things and you'll be eating your way through Yukaya for a little bit so I want to thank these businesses and acknowledge them and let you all know what you're going to get applause that would be great okay and up next we have our director of student services Jason Iverson who's going to be giving out our coveted attendance Awards so first congratulations students families on your success so we have an attendance competition every month in Chi unified because student of the month is about celebrating success and 1 of the things that we seen in this new world we live in with analytics and all the important factors of how we look at data the most important factor in data on student test scores graduation rates or all those other pieces of the same 1 it's student attendance so again to celebrate and try to make sure that we get High student attends to promote success we have a monthly attendance the word the overall attendance award in 96.5% this month goes to Frank zinc congratulations and most improved this month goes to Grace Hudson congratulations thank you all for your efforts in getting kids to school I think our attendance percentage is up so far this year at 1.2% over last year so that helps with learning um certainly helps with our budget as well um but mostly with learning for our students so um anyway thank you I know as a parent some days it's really hard to get those kiddos out of bed especially as they become High schoolers um but we're really glad that they're here so thank you very much well good afternoon I'm Jessica Hernandez I'm the proud principal at calpella and I have 3 awesome fourth graders that I get to brag about and I want to give a shout out to some of our calpella teachers that are here to celebrate our students so thank you for joining us today so our first student is Valeria Alvarez Rodriguez and I'm going to say this in is for her parents so significant oh solo that for for my second student it is Alexander Los and I'm going to speak in Spanish for their family as well Alexander for Alex for Alex and Mathematica Alex the for Alex and last but not least we have Kalin Parson and Miss Mendoza writes it's a pleasure to recognize Kalin as the student of the month she consistently demonstrates what it means to be hardworking determine and kind throughout the year she has grow she has shown a strong commitment to her learning putting in extra effort both in the classroom and by attending tutoring to strengthen her skills her dedication has truly paid off as she has made significant academic progress that is worth celebrating in addition to her academic progress she is a valued and supportive member of our classroom Community Kalin is is willing to help others and provide guidance and encouragement to students around her she brings a joyful sense of humor to our classroom and her infectious laugh brightens the room outside of the classroom she could continues to shine as a talented softball player she has proven herself to be a true a true Slugger and stepping up to the plate with confidence and delivering what what it matters most her teamwork perseverance and passion for the sport reflect the same strong character she brings to school we are incredibly proud of her growth effort and achievement in fourth grade she is truly deserving of this recognition and congratulations Caitlyn and her memory of capella is I will remember all the cool teachers I had and when she grows up she wants to be a hair stylist I will be your first class and congratulations and with that I would like to introduce Principal darra Brown from Frank seek good afternoon um I'm Dara Brown I'm the principal of Frank seek Elementary School we're really grateful uh to you all for partnering with us to care for your children for their success and their growth um at Frank Zeke we our peaceful respectful responsible and safe those are the character traits that we Elevate these 5 people are amazing examples of that but they are also amazing examples of academic excellence and we're just really proud of how um they've applied them elves over the year and um all their hard work and uh success so to introduce our first student of the month we have Anna Hansen from fourth grade Mr Martin's class Anna is the kind of student every teacher loves to have in class she's incredibly hardworking has a natural drive to succeed whether it's a daily assignment or a project to Anna doesn't just finish her work she completes her goals with focus and determination what really makes Anna stand out though is her kind heart and her positive attitude she's a true friend she gets along with everyone else and she makes our school and her classroom more welcoming um Anna's love for learning shines through everything she does she consistently chooses challenging books pushing herself to grow with every chapter um when it comes to mathematics she's equally impressive um but perhaps most importantly Anna brings a wonderful energy to their classroom she enjoys laughing and has a fantastic sense of humor that brightens all of our days at Frankie congratulations Anna we're really proud of you and just representing forth grade in Mrs Morris class is Jace Johnson Jace Johnson is new to you Kaya this year and we were so lucky to have him Jace is a model of perseverance his hard work is paying off in a big way he's already being grown over 2 grade levels uh in both reading and math this year amazing his teachers incredibly proud of him um and the ownership he takes in his education just as impressive as his academic is Jason's sense of community he is the first to volunteer he's a reliable Problem Solver and he's a committed friend to all Jesus positive attitude and bright energy always rise to the occasion spreading joy to everyone in the classroom and everyone at our school congratulations Jason really proud of you so representing fourth grade but in Mr Smith's classroom is brand Brian Mateo Cruz um Brian has done a fantastic job this trimester and worked very hard he's always pushing himself beyond what is required often completing additional Credit in math um that is far beyond the scope of fourth grade he's continuously met his accelerated reading goal checkpoints before they're due which has helped Skyrocket his reading growth this year he's well-liked by his peers due to his wonderful sense of humor um and his kind nature he's proven to be a student who consistently shows up for school cares very much about learning and cares very much about others uh his teacher is very proud of how hard he has worked and how focused he is and um says that he should be as well but congratulations man we're really proud of you representing fifth grade in Mrs Smotherman class is Eliana Montiel um yeah clap for her Mrs Smotherman says she has the distinct honor of recognizing a student who embodies what it truly means to be a leader not by just making noise but by making the most impact Eliana has been selected for this award because of her unwavering integrity and her incredible work ethic eleana is a student who takes no fuss and gets the job done whether the task is big or small she approaches it with quiet determination that is a model for everyone else that around her but what makes eleana truly special is how she balances her own success with the success of those around her she is a dedicated teammate always willing to help her partner and table mates not do the work for them but holding them accountable encouraging them with her whole heart to be their best selves while offering a healthy helping hand Eliana were incredibly proud of you good job and the representing fifth grade in Mr Vaz class is Brandon Ruiz congratulations to Brandon Ruiz uh he has demonstrated exceptional dedication to his studies successfully reaching his reading goal and maintaining a perfect record of completing every single assignment and homework task that is pretty awesome um Beyond his impressive impressive work ethic he is quickly becoming skilled geographer and a thoughtful writer both prized very much by his teacher Brandon's discipline carries over to the track where he is known as a runner who consistently gives his absolute best known for his deep love of animals and his light respectful demeanor Brandon is liked by both his peers and his teacher and I would say the rest of Frankie's staff as well Brandon your hard work and kindness have not gone unnoticed you're an amazing human being congratulations we're proud of you it's a great pleasure to recognize our students of the month month and fourth and fifth grade for the month of April I'm going to start off with uh Samuel and I meet with the students uh I met with him today and Samuel I asked them some questions Samuel said I believe I was picked as student of the month because of my score on the star test I like going to Grace Hudson language Academy because I like my teachers a lot my favorite books are Darth Paper Strikes Back and peanuts I want to be an animator when I grow up and he said he would like to thank his parents uh his mom and dad for being recognized as student of the month his teacher may ask that a land States um that Samuel is a kind and caring student who consistently demon streets what it means to be a positive member of our classroom community throughout this year he has worked incredibly hard and has made great progress in all areas of his learning his dedication and effort have truly paid off and we are very very proud of him Samuel embodies our school expectations of being respectful responsible and safe he treats others with kindness follows directions and makes thoughtful choices each day what really stands out about Samuel is his willingness to help others he is always ready to lend a hand to his classmates and support his teachers without being asked Samuel your positive attitude strong work ethic and kind heart make a difference in our classroom every single day we are so proud of you and all that you have accomplished congratulations the next student that I have the honor of recognizing is Pedro e I'm going to do the in Spanish uh for his family um tambien the Grace Hudson letters um for um Maestra Ferrell do you say Pedro is the SAS person with that that for for and moving on to our next fifth grade student Francisco I asked Francisco why he thought he was chosen student of the months in a month and he said Grace Amigos Francisco CBN Alpine CPU in Surrey and leader for our next student to recognize Saturday States no AB Grace Hudson Dork Diaries when Libro cuando me um um exceptional significant I want a leader responsibility that this with the question and those are great Suds talks it gives me great pleasure to have Mr Tom Ross from Nomis come on up next good afternoon uh my name is Tom RS and I have the blessing to have served as principal at NoMa Elementary and we practice the 3 hours of being ready responsible and respectful I bring to you 4 students that do that each and every day and uh the first 3 we're going to honor in Spanish and so our family community lay is on Ruby Alvarez magana is going to tell you about these fantastic students Christopher son Eero our next student um Maria Lupita magia mendosa for Lupita our next student of the month Liam Gam Joseph there are no extraordinario system extra math for for Felicia that is Liam and our fourth and final student to recognize is a fifth grader from Mr delgado's classroom Iana Whipple Mr Delgado pins at aniah is a new student at Nomis and even though she has been at our school for only 2 months she has proven to be a hardworking student someone who really values her education she has shown a lot of initiative and drive in learning going beyond the efforts of most students Ayanna participates in class does her work follows her classroom expectations Mr Delgato goes on to say that she's a good example to the other students in the classroom because of her work ethic and in a good behavior Iana as a respectful responsible and ready to get her work done on a Whipple and those are the 4 Fantastical students from Nomis next up Miss Amanda Brown thank you Mr RS my name is Amanda Brown I'm the proud principal at Oak Manor Elementary and at Oak Manor we follow the Oak Manor Way We are safe respectful and responsible and all of these students here embody those values and first I would like to talk about fourth grader Cesar gigos Martinez who's in Miss bosa's fourth grade class and she writes that she is proud to announce Cesar as soon as the month he is a great example of what it means to be a dedicated learner in a kind classmate he has consistently demonstrated a respectful attitude towards his teachers School staff and peers helping to create a positive atmosphere in our school he always puts forth his best effort and follows the school and classroom expectations his friendly demeanor makes it easy for him to get along with everyone congratulations Cesar and next we have fourth grader Xena Gutierrez who was nominated by her teacher Mr silly and Mr silly writes that Xena is new to Oak Manor Elementary this year and has already made a wonderful impression on our school Community she is thoughtful creative and an incredible reader who consistently demonstrates the Oakman her way by being safe respectful and responsible every day Anna is kind and respectful in class and she oh and she has shown great academic growth in both math and reading throughout the year he is so glad that she joined her class this year and is proud to choose Amanda as soon as the congratulations sama we have 1 more fourth grader Jacob CRA he uh was not able to attend and we will honor him at school um tomorrow the next 2 students of the month are both fifth graders and fifth grader Oscar Fuentes Marino and his teacher Miss Griffin writes at Oscar is kind hardworking and consistently brings a positive attitude to the classroom each day he demonstrates a strong work ethic responsibility and genuine curiosity for learning qualities that will continue to serve him well throughout his life this past year Oscar made a significant achievement as being class class ified reclassified as a proficient English language learner and he has shown tremendous growth in both star and math she is proud to nominate Oscar for student of the month congratulations Oscar and finally we have fifth grader Angel Rendon and his teacher Mrs dong writes that she is proud of Angel since the beginning of the year he has demonstrated remarkable perseverance and in integrity though he faced some initial challenges he has made incredible growth that is nothing short of inspiring Beyond his academic success Angels character truly shines he's consistently encouraging of his peers to put forth their best effort he serves as a radiant influence on his friends he's a model of what it means to follow the Oak Manor Way he is a true Bobcat through and through Angel strives for excellence in every moment and it's an honor to recognize him for his hard work congratulations angel and next I would like to bring up Mrs Dan Milani from Yoko okay hi I'm Dana Milani I'm the principal of yokayo elementary school and very honored to stand here and introduce to you for wonderful students um I'm going to start with Noah Robinson and I want to say thank you to his dad I've been doing this for 13 years I I think this is the fourth boy that you've given me that's been student of the month so thank you so much um Noah here his teacher says that he is a hardworking student who has shown great growth this school year although he has had a rough start he quickly realized importance of school and began applying himself each day Noah participates in all subjects enjoys volunteering to read and especially loves math his favorite math strategy is the box method multiplication because it says it's useful for every problem big or small Noah is a true terrific student because he is trustworthy respectful responsible and caring at Yoko we talk about the 6 pillars of character we call ourselves terrific its trustworthiness respect responsibility fairness caring and citizenship and he exemplifies all of those as well as all of our students um outside of school Noah enjoys playing sports especially football with the mighty Cubs going to the park with his friends and playing hide and seek his favorite food is enchiladas um a family is oh uh family is very important to know because they care about him and provide what he needs when he grows up no would like to become a police officer so we can help people and animals and he also dreams of making it to the NFL and playing for the Dallas Cowboys really it's all right I'm still coming all right here um so we want to say thank you so much for being a wonderful student and congratulations now on being student of the month nicely done sir you ready Emma all right this is Emma Oliver she's also a fourth grader in Mrs Tina Harris class and Mrs Tina Harrow says that Emma is a sweet caring and hard-working student who is a wonderful role model in the classroom she is always on task and consistently gives her best effort Emma has shown amazing growth in reading this year and proving from a 3.7 to an 8.0 reading level although she is quiet she still participates in class discussions and activities and has also very artistic and a talented softball player reading is her favorite subject because she enjoys learning from books and she especially enjoys The Watsons Go to Birmingham because it taught her so much and as a true terrific student because she cares for others helps when needed works hard and never gives up when things get difficult she believes respect is the most important character trait because if you want be respected you must respect others outside of school and enjoys playing softball and organizing things at home because she likes everything nice and neat I need you at my house um her favorite food is fry bread family is very important and Emma because she works hard to provide for her family and her brother and school is important because it will help her go to college 1 day when she grows up Emma would like to be a teacher so she can help children learn and also an artist because art makes her happy and allows her to be creative death congratulations emila Emma you ready Tyler Dayton and she is a fifth grader in Mrs Williams class and Mrs Williams says this about Kyler Kyler is an exceptional student in person academically she excels in every subject but her work ethic and classroom engagement makes her especially remarkable she takes diligent notes and is an organ responsible student reading and writing are her favorite subjects and she enjoys reading novels to learn more about the characters at Yoko we have the terrific character traits and she does well in each and every area Kyler can be trusted to make responsible deck decisions care for other students who need help and she does so with her quiet leadership qualities she thinks respect is the most important character trait because it means being kind to others outside of school she loves playing volleyball and watching movies with her family spending time with her family is very important to her and she also loves being with her friends of what she has many and the future she hopes to be a cosmetologist or hair stylist as she loves doing these sorts of things for herself and would love to do it for others too I feel so fortunate to have Kyler in class this year congratulations on a job well done Stella Heath and Mrs Williams says that Stella is a kind thoughtful student who always has a positive attitude academically she is a hard worker and excels in learning math facts reading especially Pete the Cat books and science their share he she has started taking our test on a reading and weekly spelling test and has been extremely successful Stella is quite the artist and loves all art activities in the classroom and anything that allows her to show her act her creativity her character shines through and class each day showing trustworthiness when doing what is asked of her respect and responsibility when listening attentively and fairness when sharing with other others all of her teachers and Mom agree that Stella doesn't know how to be unkind outside of school she loves playing outside on the swings doing arts and crafts making marble mazes building with magnets swimming and riding horses she loves all animals both big and small horseback riding is a favorite activity while other students want to leave after riding she takes extra time to feed and brush a horses and clean their stalls she loves the smallest animals too once letting a huge Pi spider crawl up her arm as she kindly said hello we will miss her gentle nature and big heart next year we have been so fortunate to have Stella at our school to learn and grow with with the last 7 years thank you for being an amazing Yoko Roadrunner congratulations Nella all right Mela are you ready all right okay there you go good job all right up next we have Dan Stearns from Eagle Peak thank you that was cool what you said about Stella because she's coming Eagle Peak next year all right here we go fifth grade and Nexus chest is not here but we'll start out with Roberto and I always add something extra to what the teachers wrote and I thought Roberto is really the renaissance man and then I read the teacher comment and she says Miss Clark says during the Renaissance it was believed that a person should embrace all knowledge and develop their talents to the fullest from Science and Mathematics to literature art and and Athletics Roberto lives that ideal every day he is a true renaissance man I agree with that wholeheartedly whether he's solving complex me math problems writing insightful essays or expressing his vivid imaginations his artwork his inquisitive mind never rests Roberto's talents don't just stop at the classroom door he's also a star athlete who truly understands the meaning of sportsmanship and the value of a team above all his kind heart and ability to treat everyone as a friend make him a 1- of leader in our school he also did a great job presenting stem coding at the school board meeting in the fall he's an awesome Renaissance Man Roberto congratulations next uh we'll move on to sixth grade We Have aveanna feliz and aveanna stands out in her Ela class classroom for her remarkable diligent diligence and consistent positive work habits she approaches every assignment with focus and dedicate dedication which is especially evident in her in her remarkably strong writing skills whether she's drafting an essay or crafting a creative piece she consistently provides thoughtful well-organized and expressive work her wonderful blend of a strong work ethic academic talent and generous Spirit make her an absolute joy to teach your math teacher basically wrote down 16 exclamation points after every sentence which is kind of funny and your teacher Miss tangren who's here says she inspired she's inspired by your work ethic and math class and then science your teacher says you're a very kind thoughtful Community member consistently puts very best effort into every assignment project and activity that we're doing in class participates fully every day no matter what we're doing and it's always willing to lend a hand to a classmate in need of support she's got a whole bunch of A's and a Plus's she's totally awesome aveanna fleece congratulations okay in sixth grade we also have Marcus tangren your Ela teacher says through the current novel study of the Lightning Thief Markus has proven to be an exceptional thinker consistently offering deep insight and drawing sharp connections that elevate our classroom discussions I noticed that every time I'm in a class that you're in you're awesome on discussions Beyond this academic talents Marcus is a genuinely wonderful classmate always ready to lend a helping hand collaboratively respectful of peers positive supportive Spirit to our classroom every single day in science your teacher says we're so fortunate to have a student like Marcus in our Learning Community consistent leader in our class and the example he sets for others is 1 of kindness High ademic rig rigor and a healthy dose of competition to keep everybody engaged and on their toes Marcus is definitely a Next Level student Marcus I have a question for you do you like math class yes good because Marcus tangren your math teacher Kristen tangren who happens to be your mom um wasn't the only teacher of the nominated you others did but she loves having you in class you always work so hard and if you don't understand you're the first to raise your hand and ask clarifying questions so dude you are doing awesome we are so proud of you marks tangents through the month congratulations go to your baseball game okay next in seventh grade we have Alondra Limas Mendoza Alondra is a joy to have in class for cost of attitude and bright personality this is your English teacher or your science teacher writing sorry bright personality light up the science classroom your positive influence to your peers you work hard you do your very best on each and every assignment you're always seeking opportunities to help out in the classroom your English teacher Miss Martin says you are truly deserving of student of the month for her strong work ethic and thoughtful approach to learning she is smart down to earth incredibly self-aware always taking pride in the quality of her work her attention to detail and commitment to turning in assignments on time consistently sell sell uh set her apart she approaches each task with care and responsibility and a positive grounded attitude makes her a great role model for others she's a incredible soccer player plays really hard really great really smart I think you should be a teacher someday just letting you know that because you're awesome Alondra lemus Mendoza congratulations next we have Alan Zuna vinegar your science teacher says you're a hardworking student you complete all your work in a timely manner and is Never Off task Allan shows great responsibility in all our classroom activities he's supportive to his peers very intelligent I appreciate it effort and kindness in the classroom your English teacher says you're a truly deserving of student of the month for your curiosity and strong desire to understand the world around him he has thoughtful questions seeks the truth and is a strong sense of fairness and everything he does he consistently gives best effort and his academic growth this year has been impressive I am very proud of the progress he has made in the dedication he shows every day he is a great Citizen and a great friend also at Eagle Peak congratulate congratulations Alan Zuna Zuniga Ryland Brown and eighth grade yes I'm gonna miss your grandma Ryland she should be grandma grandma of the month right and you're a student of the month um okay and social studies Ryland is a boisterous voice for good in the classroom I can always rely on Ryland to bring an energy and enthusiasm to even the last period of the day Ryland routinely asks guiding questions and helps lead classroom discussions he's intelligent and kind and wonderful student your math teacher says Ryland always comes to class eager to learn I appreciate the regular attendance at math tutoring thank you for bringing joy to everyone's day and finally another teacher writes I can always count on Ryland to bring a smile in the classroom he comes to class everyday positive excited and ready ready to go his engagement and participation class keeps the room of life you hear the theme he lights up the room and he's really smart he's going to do great Kai High School Ryland congratulations okay finally we have Addison Richards who has won this earned this award I should say several times in social studies she's attentive always interested in the Topic at hand routinely puts forth incredible work and brings an abundance of kindness to the classroom she's a shining star in each and every class she attends in math your teacher says you are a meticulous math student thank you for exhibiting great self-control in our class because in middle school there's not a lot of self-control so he needs students like you that kind of ground everybody that's that's 1 of your many gifts uh your teacher says you're certain that you're excellence in work will carry you far in life and then finally um your Ela teacher said you never give less than 100% on an assignment your attention to detail and critical I make you sub suburb student in the ELA classroom these skills match with their creativity engagements and kindness make her the model student that every teacher wants in their classroom you are going to do awesome guy High School congratulations Addison okay let's bring up principal Dewey from pomolita hi my name's Jonathan Dewey I'm principal at pomolita our students are awarded student of the month based off of our 4 values respect organization attitude and responsibility the first student I have for you is sixth grader Aaron Dodie he was named nominated by his teacher Miss seberg and Miss sber wrote that Aaron has demonstrated a remarkable dedication to his academic and social growth by tackling challenges with confidence in embracing collaboration with his peers Aaron has done a fantastic example for the entire classroom we are incredibly proud of the significant strides Aaron continues to make every single day congratulations next we have sixth grader Olivia Alvarez nominated by her teacher Veronica Plessy Miss blesi writes that Olivia is a truly deserving student of the month she can consistently demonstrates kindness respect and a positive attitude in our classroom Olivia is always willing to help her peers and goes out of her way to make others feel included and supported she is friendly and respectful to both classmates and teachers creating a welcoming environment for everyone Olivia puts great effort into everything she does she takes pride in her work stays focused and always strives into her best her dedication and thoughtful nature make her a wonderful role model for others congratulations Olivia next we have sixth grader Hector Alvarez also nominated by Miss nominated by her teacher Miss Morton Miss Morton writes that she is nominating Aaliyah for demonstrate ing outstanding leadership Aaliyah acts as a positive role model by encouraging peers to do their best and consistently following classroom expectations she brings a positive attitude to a class every single day which helps create a great learning environment for everyone Aaliyah is a student athlete and maintains A's in all of her classes she deserves to be in our sixth grade student a month create job keep it up Aaliyah congratulations next we have seventh grader Evelyn a parsley a parcio sorry Evelyn I can't really read the day um Evelyn's seventh grade teacher missed the way nominated her and she writes to Evelyn as polite and friendly she is hardworking focused thorough dedicated and committed she's Brave even though she seems to be very shy she will put forth her best effort to speak when called on she really deserves this please honor honor her as she should be congratulations you don't have to survive congratulations all right next we have Mr sweet from yukai independent City Academy thank you thank you for your patience you guys were almost there all right so I have 2 from the crisps sweet and the principal uisa and Lucas Mitchell was going to be able to wasn't able to make it today but today I have Braxton Anderson next to me and uh I want to thank him for being here um he was nominated by 4 people um none of the teachers it was all by the staff today and and um The Counselor wrote uh will hear you go um this is Braxton's first year at UEA he has fit in so well that it feels like he's always been here Braxton has been an amazing addition to our leadership Club sharing brilliant ideas and supporting other students for school events Braxton shows up early and asks what he can do to help get ready Braxton is always sending setting a wonderful example for his peers academically and socially he often gives a little nudges to his peers encouraging them to be their best version of themselves while also being incredibly supportive of his fellow students Braxton has shown bravery by being willing to try new things and take academic risks Braxton also has shown great personal growth this year he is a student of the month because it makes our school a better place just by being himself personally I know him um I play D and D with him uh the principal so um I'm actually honored to have you up here and I expect great things from you for the next 3 years so I'm looking forward for the the rest of our time together thank you empowerment and Wellness and I have 2 amazing seniors with me this evening and I also want to thank um I see so many South Valley staff and families and students in the audience tonight so thank you for embodying our value of community okay first we have Aiden Redfern and Aiden this is from your advisor Miss Crowfoot Aiden Redfern is an outstanding young man who truly represent presents the values of big picture Aiden has demonstrated demonstrated meaningful growth both academically and personally he approaches each day with a willingness to learn reflect and improve showing a level of self awareness that is guiding him confidently toward adulthood Aiden's kind heart and natural ability to support his peers make him a positive influence on campus embodying the character we hope all students strive to develop his cons istent participation in leaving to learn opportunities along with his dedication to his internship his strengthened his work ethic responsibility and sense of purpose Aiden's future goals clearly aligned with his passions and continues to take intentional steps toward achieving them including going to lineman School it is truly an honor to recognize Aiden as student of the month congratulations Hayden and next we have another awesome senior Raul Salazar this is from your advisor Jason Gardner Raul solids Salazar is an amazing young man and Community member he is 1 of the most intelligent and thought students I've had the pleasure to the pleasure to work with RJ configure almost anything out using his strong quantitative reasoning skills and desire to understand the world he is an excellent chess player currently constructing a chessboard and a beautiful Lyricist often sharing his music in class RJ will be attending Santa Rosa Junior College next year continuing his path toward higher education studying music technology and video graphy it has been an honor to work so closely with RJ over the last couple of years and I'm excited to see what he has to offer our world moving forward congratulations RJ and I will pass this to Dr Alvarez of Yukaya High School my name is Annalise alvers proud principal yukai High School where we value Integrity compassion productivity and creativity otherwise known as ICPC um we have only 4 of our 8 and I'll explain why in a minute but we're we're going to start with the students who are here and starting with Esmerelda I'm going to invite Mr D Martini to help out with Spanish for for a group for for understand hey it's time Jolla ale for uh academic Coral utiliza no sandal telephone a CSU East Bay except Hamas thank you Mr D Martini next up we have McKenzie McKenzie's favorite class this year is character design because she gets to be creative and likes to draw and will complete that pathway next year which is super awesome uh McKenzie is such a great student she has 4 teacher nominations first teacher says McKenzie works hard no matter what challenges she faces she tries her best in all that she does she always has a smile on her face and kindness in her heart she is a shining example of a dedicated student and a true pleasure to have in classroom and on campus your second teacher said McKenzie is self-directed in her resource class and is always working on something always working on something all year long it would be inappropriate it would be appropriate to acknowledge McKenzie's kindness hard work and really good grades that's Mr sink Mr Dior Stellar says McKenzie is constantly a hard worker and a great communicator and she brings her overwhelming positivity and kindness to class every day whether it's a cheery good morning as I walk to back to my room after a long morning meeting or the support and kindness he shows her classmates during group work McKenzie is a fantastic presence in class I know her classmates would concur when I say she deserves student of the month and finally Miss B your fashion teacher says McKenzie's creativity shines bright in fashion class she used uses color and embellishments to create unique personalized sewing projects for herself and others she works hard and often comes in during free periods to sew I appreciate her positive attitude she is friendly and treats herself and others with kindness and positive energy congratulations you're welcome go ahead all right and we have Lila Gonzalez who is a senior whose favorite class is the Pomo language class because she likes learning the language and uh learning about the culture um she her plans are to go to Menino college and possibly study psychology right psychology I didn't know if I could read my own writing here um your should be no surprise uh Miss Buffy is the 1 who nominated you and says uh liya is very attentive sweet and kind student she's incredibly helpful to other students without judgment or criticism she always has been a mature person and that helps bring a certain stability to the class and encourages other students to act mature as well she's a leader among her peers and a great model for students to Aspire to she possesses integrity and compassion for her fellow classmates and has so since day 1 congratulations all right yep go no you're good all right we have um 4 students I'll just announce your names real quick um we have sports teams in playoffs we have 3 of the 4 students uh with track um if you didn't know our track team our co-league Champions and so they are in uh Playoffs today right now down in Santa Rosa but uh poppy Wall-E couldn't be here and I'm going to turn the page excuse me that's the ban Orosco and then uh Lillian mcke and callow Olsen we will make sure we recognize them at school tomorrow we want to make sure their names were read today uh thank you for sticking through the and congratulations to your students thank you everybody just a quick shout out I see a lot of our staff sitting up there um cheering on their students I always love that thank you so much um if we can
