Special Election set to fill open Board seat in Trustee Area 6

In late April 2025, Ukiah Unified School District posted notice of a vacancy on its Board of Trustees for Trustee Area 6 and invited applications to fill the seat by Board appointment. The application deadline passed without the District receiving any qualified applicants. As a result, the District requested that the County Superintendent of Schools order a special election to fill the position, in accordance with Board Policy aligned with California Education Code.

On June 26, 2025, County Superintendent Nicole Glentzer formally ordered the election to be included in the November 4, 2025 mail-in ballot. The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors subsequently approved the order via consent agenda at their July meeting.

To be eligible, candidates must be registered voters residing in Trustee Area 6. Declaration of Candidacy forms are available from the office of the Mendocino County Assessor, County Clerk, and Recorder (Registrar of Voters), located at 501 Low Gap Road, Room 1020, Ukiah, CA 95482.

Declaration of Candidacy must be filed at the above address between July 14, 2025, and August 8, 2025.

This is a meaningful opportunity to serve your community and make a lasting impact on the education and well-being of Ukiah’s students!
