Superintendent’s Update to Ukiah Unified Families: October 30, 2020

As many of you have heard, Mendocino County recently moved into the red tier, and now the countdown begins. If we can stay in the red tier for 14 days, we will be eligible to open up to an in-person Hybrid program. We understand that a Hybrid program may not work for all families, so we will also give you the option to continue with 100% Distance Learning.

Reopening schools to an in-person model is a complicated process and will take some time.  We have had teams working on this for the last month and over the summer as well.  We have purchased adequate personal protective equipment, air filters, hand sanitizer, plexiglass, etc. to meet all of the requirements for opening.  Please continue having patience as we work through this.  I know that many questions have come up since we sent out the parent survey.

Please follow the link below to fill out a form choosing between our two instructional programs, Hybrid or Distance Learning only, for each of your children that attend UUSD schools. If you select the Hybrid Program, you will also indicate whether you prefer your child to attend on Monday/Tuesday or Thursday/Friday.

By filling out this form, you are selecting the instructional program for your child when local health conditions allow the district to transition back to in-person instruction. Please understand that we will do our best to accommodate your preferences. Please complete your form(s) by Monday, November 2nd.
