Steve is a dedicated financial professional with over 15 years of experience in educational accounting and finance. He is currently serving as Director of Business Services for Healdsburg Unified School District.

This position is an opportunity for Mr. Barekman to bring his career in education back to where it started; he was the UUSD Director of Fiscal Services from 2004 until 2006. Before moving into the education field, he worked for American Home Shield Corporation in Santa Rosa, CA, and Memphis, TN, in accounting and information services. Steve grew up in Fort Bragg, CA, and attended Fort Bragg High School. He has a 12-year-old daughter who attends a UUSD school.
